German Coaches View Rangnick Support

Bundesliga coaches expressed surprise and understanding, on Thursday the decision by Ralf Rank Nick to resign as coach of Schalke because of exhaustion.

Germany coach Joachim Loew said the coach's decision of 53 years was "courageous and correct."

In a statement through the German Football Federation, Loew said: "This demonstrates the strength of mind when the batteries are low, and admit it openly.

"As amazing as his reaction is all that is consistent, because he made it clear that health is first and foremost. I would like Steve a speedy recovery."

Rangnick, who succeeded in March fired Schalke Felix Magath said on Thursday he had no power to help the team and needed a break.

Magath, Wolfsburg now said Rangnick deserved the "utmost respect" for its decision. "I admire Ralf Rangnick to take this step," he said.

Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel said: "I'm not surprised at all that the Bundesliga coaches are prone to the disease is also important for me discipline and be aware of the importance of mental and emotional recovery.".

The German football federation have become more aware of the problem of depression and burnout game after the death of Hannover goalkeeper Robert Enke who committed suicide in November 2009. Enke, who was German No. 1 security guard had been used to treat depression.

Earlier this month, Hannover goalkeeper Markus Miller was admitted to a clinic for the treatment of the first signs of exhaustion.

DFB president Theo Zwanziger said Bild newspaper in its edition to be published on Friday that perhaps fate Enke and discussions that followed were "slightly modified" attitudes in professional football.
