Today, about 26 000 are members of the club, fielding teams of 170 000 over two million active players and a total of more than six million subscribers, the largest entry of individual sports in the world. DFB are also members of the 870 000 women and 8600 women's teams. DFB is also the richest in athletics throughout the world.
The official mascot is an eagle with black feathers and yellow beak called "Paule" (since March 26, 2006).
